WANTAGE BARON: (1832-1901) British Soldier, Victoria Cross winner for his actions in the Crimea, 20th September and 5th November 1854. A.L.S., Wantage, two pages, 8vo, Lockinge House, Wantage, Berkshire, 13th July n.y., to Boyt (?). Wantage sends his correspondent a letter (no longer present) from Sir Coleridge Grove, 'part of which refers to your son - it is an answer to my letter - Please forgive my delay in sending it to you'. Together with a D.S., Wantage, seven pages, folio, n.p., 28th October 1893. The manuscript document is a Conveyance Indenture made between Wantage and the Earl of Morley and Captain A. W. de Capell Brooke relating to land and premises situated in the Parish of Loddington in Northamptonshire. Signed by Wantage at the conclusion, and countersigned by his wife, Lady Wantage, and the Earl of Morley (1843-1905) British Peer and Politician. Each of the signatures appear alongside small red wax seals. Some very light, minor age wear, VG, 2 €125-190
