NAPOLEON I: (1769-1821) Emperor of France 1804-14, 1815. L.S., Np, one page, 4to, Paris, 4th January 1813, to the Duc de Feltre, Minister of War, in French. Napoleon states ´I have signed the decree concerning the payment of the conscripts, taken from the deposits in the artillery trains; but instead of 3000 men I only grant 2000. The other 1000 will be supplied by the conscription of 1814, which I intend to have in February, or by men returning from the grande armée or from Spain.´ The text of the letter is in the hand of Fain and the accompanying 12mo holograph receipt is neatly pinned to the lower left corner.
