Description

Pair of Cast Stone Garden Planters, 20th c., the everted rims over a baluster lobed body, on a scalloped socle to a square stepped base, H.- 37 in., Dia.- 17 in.

Condition

As found. Both bowls are broken off from the socle supports. One bowl is seen with a crack through the center, and grey residue – apparent repair. Same bowl is seen with large losses to the baluster lobes, and a smooth grey residue around the rim. One socle support is observed as missing two base corners, with one present but unattached. The other socle support is observed with grey residue, and cracking – possible repairs. Square bases are observed with losses, especially at edges and corners. A classic pair. ALL PROPERTY IS SOLD “AS IS.” NO STATEMENT REGARDING CONDITION OF ANY ITEM, WHETHER IT IS MADE ORALLY AT THE AUCTION OR ANY OTHER TIME, OR IN WRITING IN THE CATALOGUE OR ELSEWHERE, SHALL BE DEEMED TO BE A WARRANTY, REPRESENTATION, OR ASSUMPTION OF LIABILITY.
