FOUNDER OF HADASSAH11. HENRIETTA SZOLD (1860-1945). American Zionist leader who was a founder of Hadassah (1912), the Women's Zionist Organization of America, helping to establish schools, hospitals and social services in Palestine. TLS in Yiddish, 1p, 4to, Jerusalem, Nov 11, 1936. Translated. Nice content. On Central Bureau For The Settlement of German Jews letterhead to David Umansky in Tel Aviv. Szold writes, "...I was happy to hear that you decided to be a part of the Committee of the Instructors Organization. As you know the budget is still a subject of negotiations. We are doing and we will continue to do all we can t realize our common idea. But meanwhile you must do with the amount you have to realize our purpose. At the end of the month there will be a meeting of the 'Judische Jugendhilpe' and the 'Arbeitgemnschaft' in which we shall present again the question of budget..." Boldly signed. Fine.
