Description
A very fine ivory and ebony oval evening cane. The ivory cap handle is 1/3" high and 1 1/8" at its widest. It is inked and etched on the top with Edwardian style owner's initials: "L. R." There is a thin gold separator on a heavy ebony shaft with a 1 1/8" horn ferrule. The overall length is 35 2/3" and the condition is very good, with very minor roughness at the top edge of the ivory handle. It is perhaps English, ca 1910, and it was made at the beginnings of the Art Deco period of influence. It is a fine "black & white" example made for evening wear. Estimate: $750-$950.
