A great Brigg ivory and bamboo sword cane curio. The ivory ball handle is 1 1/4" in diameter. There is a 2/3" silver collar that is London hallmarked for 1889, and is marked "Brigg" for the famous London cane purveyor. Four and one half inches down the dark bamboo shaft a sword can be withdrawn from a tight friction juncture. The steel blade is 29 1/4" long, it is squared and tapered, and there are blood grooves. It comes to a sharp point and is in very good condition. The shaft terminates with a worn 1 1/4" brass and iron ferrule. The overall length is 34 7/8" and the condition is very good.
