Description

A great multicolor gold decorative cane. The octagon configured gold knob is 1 1/2" high and 7/8" across the top. It is owner-initialed on the top: "G.C." The sides are gadrooned with saw-teeth and there are two textured rings at the base. It has been tested at 14k. The shaft is honey-toned malacca with fancy gold eyelets and the piece finishes with a fine, decorated and octo-paneled 2 1/2" silver and iron ferrule. The overall length is 35 1/2" and the condition is very good with some denting on the top of the multicolor gold handle. It is perhaps American, ca 1845, and it is a splendid decorative example. Estimate: $1200-$1800
