Description
A very nice Anglo/Indian segmented ivory cane with eagle. Made entirely of ivory, it has a handle that is 3 1/4" high and 2 1/4" to the side. It depicts a stylized eagle with crest and eyes, and an open mouth that holds a round egg. There is a 1" ivory collar on a shaft carved with faux thorns, fashioned with four segments that that screw into each other. The lowest segment includes a 7/8" ivory ferrule. The overall length is 34 1/3" and the condition is very good with minor stress cracks near the screw-in joints. It is ca 1905, and it is a fine example of the type with a unique handle. Estimate: $700-$900. This lot is subject to shipping restrictions outlined in Terms and Conditions.
