A very unusual woven wicker cane with a bronze mount. Made entirely of wicker, it has a crook handle that measures about 7 1/2" along the arc and is about 1/3" thick. At the end of the crook, there is a 1 3/4" bronze highlighter fashioned with a finishing curve. There are 3 areas of plain wrapping to help secure the wicker along with many tiny metal clips that are set into the under-base that is probably heavy hardwood. A 1 1/3" burnished bi-metal ferrule completes the piece. The overall length is 34" and the condition is very good with no visible damage. It is perhaps Continental, ca 1895, and it is a nicely crafted example of the kind. Estimate: $650-$850.
