The lot features an original United States Military issue .50 BMG Rifle. The rifle works flawlessly and shows wonderful condition. This is strongly believed to be the rifle off the US M40 106mm Recoilless Rifle. This is a spotting rifle that would have been matched to the recoilless rifle and would have shot the first spotting round. The piece was used on the Ontos light armored tracked anti-tank vehicle. Very Rare piece from circa 1950-1969. The piece has been changed to a round bolt action and mounted to this rolling platform. The rifle is marked 1971 X LH 26978 726613. This has a muzzle break, pistol grip set trigger, mounted scope rails, and adjustable rotating mobile shooting platform. Barrel and bolt measures 51.5" long. The firearm measures overall 75.5"x30.5"x30.25" The rifle comes with 5 rounds of ammunition and has been tested. VERY RARE early piece and is the only one known to be available for sale. Possible the M-86 or M-8C Spotting Rifle.
