Description
A Near Eastern bronze handle in the form of a recumbent goat, c. 8th-7th Century BC, the protome is from a whetstone with a long neck, curved horns, legs folded under the body, and a fine reddish patina. A lovely piece with excellent eye appeal! L: 2 ½ in (6.4cm). Ex collection of Dr. Arthur M. Sackler (1913-1987) acquired in the 1960s.
