A Byzantine to Medieval iron axe-head mounted on a wood shaft, 7th - 14th Century AD, the metal is stable and sealed and in great condition, the wood shaft giving the weapon the overall feel of how the axe originally may have been mounted. Axe measures 8 ½ in x 3 ¼ in (21.7 x 5.7 cm), overall length with handle is 22 ¾ in (57.9 cm). Ex Los Angeles private collection.
