ROBERT MORRIS DECLARATION SIGNER CLIP SIGNATURE: From the original 1992 Early American Numismatic Auctions catalog: "Robert Morris, Signer of the Declaration of Independence, Articles of Confederation, and Member of the U.S. Constitutional Convention in 1787 on a cut square, 3" wide by 1" high "FREE" Frank from an early colonial envelope. Stamped "FREE" above Morris' signature. Morris was instrumental in paying off money owed to Continental Soldiers, by the government securing loans from France and the Netherlands for our country. Unfortunately, this heroic American patriot died in near poverty after spending over three years in debtors prison near the end of his life. Signature is in bold, vivid, rich brown pen." Affixed to card which is affixed to steel engraving of Morris. 8" x 6 1/2".
