COL A collection of photographs of the first Russian cosmonauts. A 9 x 11.8cm black and white landscape photograph of Yuri Gagarin, Andrian Nikolayev, Pavel Popovich and Gherman Titov sharing a joke. Signed in Russian "Titov, Nikolayev, Popovich" in blue ink and "Gagarin" in black ink. Minor creasing and edge wear, particularly at corners. A 8.6 x 11.8cm black and white landscape photograph of Gagarin, Popovich, Titov and Nicholayev, standing in woodland. Signed in Russian "Gargarin" in red ink, "Popovich, Titov" in black ink and "Nicholayev" in blue ink. Minor edge wear to the margins, light foxing on the back of the photo. A 14.3 x 10.2 colour head and shoulders postcard picture of Yuri Gagarin, signed by Gagarin himself in blue ink close to the left lower corner (signature a little faint). Some age toning, some edge wear to the margins. A few stains on the back of the postcard. Sold with three stamped envelopes with which the pictures were sent from USSR to the vendor. Yuri Gagarin was the first human being to journey in space aboard shuttle Vostok 1 on April 12, 1961 for 1 hour and 48 minutes, followed by Gherman Titov, who travelled aboard shuttle Vostok 2 on August 6, 1961 for 25 hours and 18 minutes. Andraiv Nikolayev was the third Russian in space aboard Vostok 3 on August 11, 1962. His journey took 3 days, 22 hours and 22 minutes. Pavel Popovich was the fourth Russian to orbit Earth aboard Vostok 4 on August 12, 1962 for 2 days, 22 hours and 57 minutes.
