Description
MEM Billy Jennings' 1923 F.A. Cup Final Bolton Wanderers shirt, the white shirt with crew neck collar with drawstrings, worn by Billy when playing in the first ever F.A. Cup final played at the "new" Wembley stadium. The game resulted in a 2-0 win for Bolton Wanderers over West Ham with King George V presenting the trophy. The crowd on the day was officially 126,047 but was estimated to be as high as 300,000. The chaotic scenes before the match resulted in crowds overspilling onto the pitch and mounted police coming on to clear the playing area. One particular light-coloured horse contrasted with the others and appeared to single handedly move the crowd to the sidelines. The iconic image of the lone mounted policeman gave this historic F.A. Cup tie the title "The White Horse Final" .
