(8vo) 24x15 cm (9½x6") later full red straight grain morocco, gilt rule borders, spines gilt, raised bands, wide gilt dentelles, all edges gilt. Bound by Riviere and Son. First Edition.
With the first issue points, plate 28 misdated '1284' and Volume 2, page 222 is blank. Of the aquatint plates, 68 are by Robert Cruikshank, 2 by Thomas Rolandson, 1 by T. Wegman, and 1 by G.M. Brightly. Abbey Life 325; Tooley 504.
Condition
Extremities rubbed, spines ends lightly chipped; some foxing, plates a bit browned; very good.
