Keith Allen Haring (4.5.1958 - 16.2.1990) was an American artist and social activist. He responded with his work to the New York City street culture of the 1980s. His work showed concepts of birth, death, sex and war and has become a widely recognized visual language of the 20th century. Coming from the street art, he painted on walls in cities like Sydney, Melbourne, Rio de Janeiro, but also in Amsterdam, Paris and in Berlin 1986 the Checkpoint Charlie. He had many single shows. Haring was also engaged in social Projects, especially for children and, because of his own experiences, he generated activism and awareness about AIDS.

Er bemalte Wände in Sydney, Melbourne, Rio de Janeiro, Minneapolis und Manhattan, aber auch in Amsterdam, Paris und in Berlin 1986 den Checkpoint Charlie. Seine Bilder auf Leinwand zeigte er in vielen Einzelausstellungen. Sozial engagierte er sich für Kinder und auch, als selbst Betroffener, in der Aids-Vorsorge.
