Description
CORK HARBOUR, (TRIPTYCH)
watercolour John Corbett entered the Royal Navy in 1835. During his extensive and successful career he travelled in the Mediterranean, Africa and the Far East. In 1864 Corbett was appointed captain of HMS Hastings, flagship of Rear-Admiral Lewis Tobias Jones at Queenstown, now Cobh, a post he would hold for two years.
