American Militia Infantry Cap Plate, ca 1814-21 [Campbell & Howell, Figure 111], variation design from a different die maker; die-stamped sheet brass in shield form with spread-winged, shield-breasted eagle, clutching arrows and olive branch with ribbon banner above with E. Pluribus Unum and laurel wreath with 1776 in center below eagle; reverse with tin plume mount and wire mounts; with fine old patina; 3.4" wide x 4.75" high.
