Rare Early American Militia Infantry Hat Plate, ca 1810-40. Campbell & Howell, Fig. 106; stamped in sheet iron, plated in bright tin. Topped with large sunburst, stars, edge of cloud and motto Unity is Strength. Spread eagle below within wreath over shield with 1776. Reverse has its two original wire fasteners.
