U.S. Painted & I'ded Wood Canteen, ca 1800-20; bent wood and tacked construction with hickory sides and pine or fir ends, in original black (possibly darkened green) paint with red U.S. on one end and branded E. Burr on the other face, with 3 tacked (rose head tacks) leather straps at sides for carrying strap; 7.2" diameter x 2.5" wide.
