Daguerreotype of Boy in Militia Uniform, anonymous sixth plate in leather case. He wears an 1840-50s militia uniform with plumed leather shako and stands at arms with a huge (relative to him) musket. Likely the mascot of a well-to-do local militia group. Dramatic lighting makes this special.
Plate generally very bright and clean with scattered brown spots on the right hand side. Cover of case detached.
