(Florence, reformer of Army Medical Services and of nursing organization, 1820-1910) Autograph Letter signed to Flora Masson, 3pp., 8vo, in pencil, Claydon House, Buckinghamshire, 27th November 1891, regarding her new appointment as Matron of the Radcliffe Infirmary, "I want so much to hear how things are making progress under your wise & prudent rule", and inviting her to stay at Claydon House, folds, hinge on verso of last f., foxed and browned. Flora Masson (1857-1937), nurse and writer; "like her parents Flora Masson campaigned for female enfranchisement and was awarded the Royal Red Cross for her wartime work as commanding officer of the Whitehill Hospital, Edinburghshire." - Oxford DNB.
