Carl Kauba (Austria, U.S.A., 1865-1922) cold painted bronze grouping titled Indian Attack (War Party) is a group of 5 Native American Indians riding on horseback in a single line as they charge forward to attack. The first leans over the front of his horse and is looking down his rifle sites, the second leans back and is holding his rifle up, the third is on a rearing back horse holding up a war club, the third leans forward as the horse charges and the final rider stands up in the saddle and is waving his hand. Has an overall medium brown patina with green highlights and the figures have colorful cold painted highlights; on an original rough cut marble base and signed at the rear “Kauba”. 11.75 in. high x 28 in. wide x 6 in. deep.
