DESCRIPTION: This is a colonial wrought iron ladle spoon from New England circa 1700s. The fireplace or hearth was the most important part of the early colonial home. Without it there would be no heat for comfort or cooking. Hand wrought iron implements were important and necessary for cooking. The wrought iron ladle or spoon was handmade by a blacksmith with exquisite form and detail. There is a “Triple” Zig Zag pattern on the long handle of the wrought iron ladle. There is a closed loop tip on the end of the handle of the wrought iron spoon for hanging by the open hearth.MEASUREMENTS: 2 inches wide and 8 1/2 inches long.
