The present painting by Anna Tessenow (1978) appears like a digital color photograph. The composition is determined by bright and pale colors and simplified forms, showing the bust of a young woman in front of a reduced background. In her work, Tessenow explore the possibilities of light and space and creates abstracted compositions that are evidence of a ‘modern beauty’.

The painting is signed and dated with ‘A. Tessenow, 2013’ on the reverse of the stretcher. It is in very good condition, showing only minimal traces of use. The dimensions are 99.5 x 130 cm.

Anna Tessenow (b. 1978)

The artist Anna Tessenow, born in Markranstädt and raised in Güstrow in Mecklenburg, began her studies in 1996 at the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig in the class of Prof. Arno Rink. After her graduation in 2002, she was a master student of Rink until 2005. As part of a scholarship, she created 14 large paintings and four graphics for the art'otel anna tessenow in Leipzig in 2007/2008. Anna Tessenow’s work has been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions. The artist lives and works in Leipzig.
