Description

Album with about 80 photos. March-December 1945, (English).
The photos portray the life of a British officer serving in Eretz Israel and the vicinity. Most photos are titled and dated. Six photos in the album feature the bridge of Yavne and were taken two days after the bombing in July 1945 (two large photos 15.5X22 cm). On 23.7.1945 the bridge and railway, next to the Arab village of Yavne, have been bombed by Etzel and Haganah in a joint operation. The bombing paralyzed, temporarily, the traffic of trains between Eretz Israel and Egypt. Other photos in the album portray the officer in various sites in Eretz Israel, Syria, Jordan, Bulgaria and Greece.
Album: 19 cm, photos: average size 8 cm. Good condition.
