Passover Haggadah. Kibbutz Buchenwald, [Netzer Sireni], 1948-1949.
A non-traditional Haggadah, with illustrations (illustrations from Neve-Ilan 1947 Haggadah). Presented here is the 1948 Haggadah within which several corrected and updated pages for the year 1949 have been pasted. The leaf which was pasted on page 31 reads: "This Passover Seder, 1949, is the first year to our settlement on this land and the fourth to the existence of our Kibbutz, a Kibbutz of exile survivors".
In 1945, a training Kibbutz was established in Germany by survivors of the Buchenwald concentration camp. This was the first training group founded in Germany after the liberation. Later, the Kibbutz members founded Kibbutz Netzer Sireni.
