Description

CERAMIC COPIES OF CUP PLATES, LOT OF TWO, each molded on one side only, comprising a porcelain copy of Henry Clay by Boleslaw Cybis, and an ironstone-type earthenware copy of Lee/Rose No. 697 Wedding plate, no maker's markings. Clay example circa 1948-1955, Trenton, New Jersey. Other example likely circa 1925. 3 1/4" and 3 1/8" D.

Provenance: From a Pennsylvania private collection.
Catalogue Note: The Winterthur Museum collection includes several examples of Cybis cup plates but not this particular specimen.

Condition

Clay undamaged, other with two shallow chips from unpatterned side and light glaze crazing.
