EARLY THUMBPRINT / ARGUS (OMN) MOLASSES CAN / SYRUP JUG, colorless lead glass, blown-molded tall belly form with four rows of thumbprints between upper and lower ribs, bold applied hollow handle, 12-petal base. Appropriate Britannia hinged lid without markings. Bakewell, Pears & Co., Pittsburgh, PA. Third quarter 19th century. 8 1/2" HOA, 7 3/8" H handle, 6 5/8" H to collar, 3 3/8" D base.
