MAGNET AND GRAPE WITH FROSTED LEAF DISPENSER, colorless and frosted lead glass, approximately one gallon capacity bottle with original brass spigot, raised on a single-step circular base, wafer construction, original tulip-form open-top "taster" stopper. Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. Circa 1865-1875. 21" HOA, 17" H bottle, 5 1/2" D foot.

Catalogue Note: This dispenser represents one of the great icons of Early American Pattern Glass. The illustrations in Barlow/Kaiser and Metz are both of the example at the Sandwich Glass Museum. Lee and McKearin illustrate the same example from a private collection. A third example is in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and is on display in the American Wing.
