Rare limited issue of Filippi's account of his conquest of the 18,000-foot peak, printed on fine laid paper slightly larger than the trade issue, with the gravure plates on mounted paper, and the halftone illustrations in the text mounted. Most of the photographic illustrations were by the great mountain photographer, Vittoria Sella.

Spine label rubbed with some chipping, ends crimped, one ribbon tie frayed; a little offset to endpapers, else very good or better, with custom-made folding cloth box.
