Edward Charles Williams (British, 1807-1881). Oil on canvas housed in an outstanding gilt gesso frame with foliate motifs. A depiction of a roadside mill with a thatched roof and an adjacent stream, having a pair of horses and three attendants standing outside while a fourth figure can be seen behind a fence in the background. Signed ECW in l.l. corner; 20.25 x 28.5 in. (sight).

Canvas re-lined. Some transference of gold paint from frame to canvas in u.r. corner. Frame with some small repairs to u.r. corner and some light cracks to gold finish.
