In 1972 the Beverly Wilshire Hotel underwent a major renovation wherein each of the six floors of the building were redesigned to represent a different theme. The sixth floor was dedicated to the avant-garde. This painting was hung in one of the suites on the floor to achieve the avant-garde aesthetic.
