Description
Late Period, c. 664-30 B.C. Egypt. A lot of 4 pieces of Egyptian wood from sarcophagi, All four pieces retain original paint, three having red, white, and yellow colors, while the fourth depicts half of an scarab over blue and white stripes. The largest has L: 10 4/5 in (27.5cm), W: 2 1/2 in (6.5cm). A couple very attractive display pieces for a collection. Ex New York Private Collection.
Condition
Fragmentary, with some loss to the painted decoration, otherwise stable.
