Description
A pair of very fine three-light gilt-bronze wall appliques after the model by Charles Cressent, circa late 19th century. Finely chased, each decorated with foliate drip pans and nozzles, and each having one branch supporting a parrot with elongated tail feather. The pair is stamped with what appears to be either a maker's mark or a Chateau stamp. Approximate height 21 inches. Approximate width 14 inches.
Lot Note: A near identical set of four wall-appliques sold at Christie's Sale 1514 for $33,400. The Christie's set was apparently unmarked.
