A Thomson crinoline cage, circa 1860. the waistband stamped 'Celebre Jupe Cage Thomson, Paris, Brevet Milliet', with cotton lattice weave band to hem

Condition

4 broken struts with 1 bent out of shape. 3 x 1.5cm splits to waistband. 1 broken strut at hem with some twisted out of shape. 18cm tear to centre back muslin hem. Muslin hem is generally soiled and internal wires are mis-shapen in places and one is broken internally and pushing through the muslin. Numerous small splits in hem edging
