Rinpa School, Japanese, Edo Period (1615-1868), ink and silver on paper, the four-panel folding screen depicting chrysanthemums blooming on the banks of a stream, unsigned, together with a certificate from the Japan Antique Art Export Association, dated 1969, h. 36-1/4", w. 67-3/4". The Rinpa School, which traces its roots to the work of the artist Ogata Korin (1658-1716), was an important part of the revival of traditional Japanese themes in painting, textiles, lacquer and pottery during the Edo period (1615-1868).
