Description
French Neoclassical Gilt-Bronze Figural Mantel Clock, first quarter 19th century, decorated with a figure of a satyr holding a flute, his stein of wine atop the clock, which rests on toupie feet decorated with neoclassical mounts, the clock with silk string suspension works, the dial marked "Rieussec Jne a Paris", for Nicolas Mathieu Rieussec, h. 11-1/4", w. 7-1/2", d. 3-1/2".
Condition
The porcelain dial has some chips to the perimeter of the winding portholes - mostly to the left hole. Faint hairlines near the IIII chapter. The case looks fine, with a good surface. The movement appears clean, with no issues; however, we are unsure of its working condition. There is a winding key and pendulum present.
