William Walcot RE Hon RIBA, British 1874-1943- ''A Greek Lady''; drypoint and aquatint, with etching and rockerwork, signed in pencil over the plate edge, 20.5x12.5cm, (unframed) Note: Walcot originally produced this print in 1913 and reworked the plate in 1919 and further impressions were printed though the number is not recorded. An impression was included in the Fine Art Society 1914 one-man exhibition of Walcot's etchings with the title A Greek Lady - BC 400 though in more recent exhibitions it has been called A Greek Lady of the 6th Century BC. It was also included in the James Connell 1918 one-man exhibition of Walcot. It is based on one of the archaic female figures in the Acropolis Museum, Athens.
