This lot comprises two bottles of 1985 vintage Montrachet Marquis de Laguiche produced by Joseph Drouhin from the Montrachet appellation in Burgundy.
The Burgundy vineyards lie at an intersection: it is where the restrained warmth of the South meets the cool crispness of the North. Due to this, the grapes can develop complexity at full maturity and still don’t lose their natural freshness. This is not only true for the white Burgundy, grown from Chardonnay, but also the red Burgundy, made from Pinot noir. What makes Burgundy an exceptional wine-growing region, however, are the small, rural structures that have caused generations of vintners to intensively grapple with the small parcels of vine-growing land in attempts to cultivate sublime wines. This continuity over centuries is brought to fruition in all of the finest Burgundy wines.
The 1985 vintage Drouhin Montrachet Marquis de Laguiche was rated 100 points in a 1988 issue of Wine Spectator.
The fill levels are good (1x < 5 cm) to low (1x < 7 cm). The labels and capsules are in perfect condition.
