American, late 19th-early 20th century. Two shorebird decoys of carved wood, embellished with life-like painted details in shades of black, white, and brown, one with carved eyes and mounted to a modern metal stand, purportedly used by De Lancey Nicoll Jr. (American, 1892-1957), the other having painted eyes and mounted on a natural wood base; largest lg. 10 in.

Condition
Some light surface wear and paint loss. Both beaks with glue repairs. One with a crack around neck. One with minor shot damage.
