Cyprus, Middle Cypriot, Ca 1900 to 1600 BCE. Terracotta strainer vessel used in the fermentation of beer; with bulbous base, long neck with flaring rim, strap handle and short spout in which is incorporated a series of small holes for straining. 7-1/2"H.
Provenance: Ex-private collection of William Dale, a career diplomat stationed in Turkey in the early 1960's, who acquired a vast collection of Greek, Roman and Near-Eastern treasures.
