Description
Cyprus, Late Cypriot II, Ca 1400 BCE. Lovely pair of terracotta vessels, each in white slip. First, a small handled pitcher, rounded body and high loop handle, decorated in zigzag pattern in reddish brown, 3-3/8"H. Along with a small ladle with split handle, decorated with converging lines on base and geometric patterns on sides and on handle. 4-1/2"L with handle.
Provenance: Ex-private collection of William Dale, a career diplomat stationed in Turkey in the early 1960's, who acquired a vast collection of Greek, Roman and Near-Eastern treasures.
