Description
Greek colony of Apulia, southern Italy, Ca 340 to 325 BCE. Attractive pottery wine cup (kantharos) on long foot with sweeping handles, each side painted with Lady of Fashion portrait. An attractive example! 7-3/8" H to top of handle.

Provenance: Ex-private collection of William Dale, a career diplomat stationed in Turkey in the early 1960's, who acquired a vast collection of Greek, Roman and Near-Eastern treasures during his tenure.
