Cleveland & Stevenson Campaign Bandana

1892, Grover Cleveland / A. E. Stevenson Presidential Campaign Bandana, Fine.
19.25” x 18.75” black print images on one side of a cotton cloth bandanna. Featuring oval portraits of Cleveland and Stevenson, a large heraldic eagle and shield at top, beneath a campaign slogan: “A PUBLIC OFFICE IS A PUBLIC TRUST.” Both portraits are framed by draped flags, olive branches and laurels. Print has a few pulls and flaws, but is quite attractive nevertheless. Toned bandanna has intermittent soiling and spotting. With proper matting and framing this piece could be a nice display item, due to its imagery, icons, and political significance. Very rare!
