Description
Dwight D. Eisenhower Endorsed Check. Measuring 8.5" x 3.25", this check from The Abilene Manufacturing Company of Abilene, Kansas, dated July 9, 1910, and drawn on the Farmers National Bank, orders payment of $8.75 to Dwight D. Eisenhower. Eisenhower, then a nineteen-year-old high school graduate (who in other letters from this time claims to be eighteen so that he could be accepted to the Naval Academy at Annapolis), has signed "Dwight Eisenhower" in pencil on the verso. Three months later, he accepted his nomination to the United States Military Academy at West Point.
