c. mid 1800's. Highly decorative and visual. It was hung on the wall, but also stands alone. This piece is all hand-made and carved, using scrap wood and hand-forged metal hinges. It has an unusual mix of styles and is attributed as American made, from a family of Norwegian and Latvian descent from Michigan. Original paint with a fair amount of wear. Lots of missing paint glass cabinet door. This piece had a split on the right side where the "flame" is attached, one scallop on the trim partly missing, and an old break and repair of the lowest right cross, Otherwise it is in very good condition. 33"t x 17"l x 5"w.
