A 1978 Corvette Indy Pace Car whose first owner was Waylon Jennings.
FOB FRANKLIN, TENNESSEE

This beautiful car only had one owner after Waylon himself, and he has issued this statement of provenance below:

“In October of 1989 my office was on Music Row in Nashville, Tennessee. I spotted a 1978 Corvette Indy Pace Car parked on 16th Ave and I stopped. I put my business card on the windshield to inquire if the car was for sale. I received a call that day informing me that it might be for sale but did I know that it belonged to Waylon Jennings. Not wanting to see the price go up I said that I didn’t and was looking for an older Corvette to drive. With a little negotiation I purchased the car that week and have owned it for 25 years. The car had 44561 miles on it when I purchased it. I have added 106,676 miles during my ownership.The car has always drawn a lot of attention but being a ‘car guy’ I have enjoyed every minute of it.I have met people who remember riding in the car with Waylon and heard their stories.I even found Waylon’s bumper sticker under the passenger seat when I removed the seat to be recovered.The Pace Car has been driven, maintained, and cared for as part of my collection.It currently has a GM crate 350 engine that was Chevrolet Dealer installed.I have the original L-82 engine that has been rebuilt and is ready to install.I also have the original AM/FM/CB radio but I don’t know what Waylon’s CB handle was... Maybe Hoss!I am offering the car for sale because it’s time for a new owner to enjoy the Corvette.”

Please note the following aspects of the car’s condition:
· The Corvette is currently in running and driving condition.
· Brake calipers have been updated with stainless steel sleeves.
· Tires are in like new condition.
· The paint still shines glossy but has small nicks and road chips.
· Body has typical flaws that show up on older Corvettes.
· The frame is rust free and straight.
· Dash and seat covers have been replaced but interior carpet is showing its age.
· One of the sunroof glass panels has a crack.
