Archibald Knox (1864-1933)

Archibald Knox was born on the Isle of Man in 1864 and became well-known for his Art Nouveau designs. Already at an early age he developed an interest in Celtic art, which would later influence many of his designs. He acquired renown especially with his individualistic designs of metalwork and jewelry for the British department store Liberty, for which he created numerous household objects between 1899 and 1904.

Liberty & Co.

Liberty is an exclusive, traditional department store in Regent Street in London and was established by Arthur Lasenby Liberty. The store first opened in 1875 and has offered goods and art products from all over the world since then.
